چکیده
Aluminium is a neurotoxic metal, exposure leads to neurodegenerative disease like alzheimer’s. Chronic exposure to it is a real eventuality due to its presence in food, air, water, in medicines and as floculating agents in water purification process. It is an important task to control its toxicity by natural source, so the present work aimed to investigate the neuroprotective activity of ofSargassumilicifolium against aluminium induction. Aluminium chloride of dose (100mg/kg b.wt) was given orally to induce cognitive dysfunction in rats. The ethanolic extract and ethyl acetate fraction of dose 100, 200, 400mg/kg and 200mg/kg respectively were selected and administered from 21st day of aluminium induction up to 40 days and in drug treated animals behavioural studies, antioxidant studies, neurotransmitter estimation and finally histopathological studies were performed. The study has revealed the potential neuro protective effect by improving the learning memory status in behavioural studies, reversing the stress induced free radicals and boosting the neurotransmitters level responsible for memory consolidation.

Rosmarinic acid mitigates learning and memory disturbances in amyloid β(25–35)-induced model of Alzheimer’s disease in rat
Abstract Background and Objective: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a weakening neurodegenerative disorder typified by increased b-amyloid (Ab) deposition and neuronal dysfunction causing to impaired learning and memory. Among proposed risk factors, induced oxidative stress is a main cause for incidence of the disease. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of the rosmarinic acid on lear...
متن کاملProtective Effect of Carvacrol in 6-hydroxydopamine Hemi-parkinsonian Rat Model
Background and Objective: A huge amount of investigational evidence support a role for oxidative stress as an intermediary of nerve cell dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease (PD). Polyphenols such as carvacrol have been indicated to prevent neuronal deterioration caused by increased oxidative load, thus, this study evaluated whether carvacrol administration would attenuate behavioral abnormalitie...
متن کاملDalteparin as a Novel Therapeutic Agent to Prevent Diabetic Encephalopathy by Targeting Oxidative Stress and Inflammation
Introduction: Hepcidin is the principal modulator of systemic iron metabolism, and its role in the brain has been clarified recently. Studies have shown hepcidin plays an important role for in neuronal iron load and inflammation. This is of significance because neuronal iron load and inflammation are pathophysiological processes that have been highly linked to neurodegeneration. Moreover, the a...

Objective(s): The effects of low dose amphetamine on oxidative stress and rotenone-induced neurotoxicity and liver injury were examined in vivo in a mice model of Parkinson’s disease. Materials and Methods: Male mice were treated with rotenone (1.5 mg/kg, every other day for two weeks, subcutaneously). Mice received either the vehicle or...
